After spending many years underwriting strike risks for shipowners and charterers of ships, John Allan recognised the need for insurance to cover any business that was affected by a strike of others. The outcome was the formation of Strike Risks Management Ltd. in 1984 and to date has three schemes available on a world wide basis being Contingent Non Marine Strike Insurance, Marine Strike Insurance and the International Road Hauliers Scheme.
